At Victim Services of Durham Region, we are hiring a culturally responsive Crisis Intervention and Cultural Support Counsellor. This role delivers critical support to those affected by violence, applying trauma-informed and anti-oppressive methodologies. Your understanding of Indigenous traditions and your ability to address diverse needs will be central to your impact.

Key Responsibilities:



• Conduct phone and in-person crisis interventions • Develop and provide emotional support strategies • Facilitate seamless referrals to community services • Cultivate partnerships within local community networks • Document client interactions and maintain confidentiality

Requirements: • Social Service Worker, BSW, or equivalent degree • 3+ years working with youth and families in crisis • Knowledge of Indigenous practices and teachings • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications • Willingness to participate in on-call rotations
