Title:Cook - (Full Time)Number of Positions: 1Competition Number:C145Location:Surrey (TBD)Position Status:Full TimeShift Timings & Days:(Monday- Friday) 10:00 am - 06:00 pmReports To:Program ManagerCompensation:(Grid 09) $25.61- $27.31Job SummaryThe Cook at Phoenix Society is responsible for preparing meals and following established recipes. Key duties include preparing ingredients, adhering to the menu, and following food health and safety procedures. The position is required to cook, clean, assist other kitchen staff, and deliver food in a fast-paced workplace. The Cook ensures that menu items are of high quality and distributed in a timely fashion. Also from time to time able to work for sister sites and Phoenix food truck as needed.ResponsibilitiesSetup, clean and organize work stations with all necessary suppliesPrepare ingredients for the day; wash, chop and season meat, vegetables, etc.Prepare and cook menu items according to nutritional standards with other kitchen staffHandle multiple food orders at one timeDeliver menu items to clients as requiredStore and dispose of any food properlyEnsure sufficient stock and inventory of food, supplies and equipmentSanitize and clean work stations and kitchen suppliesComply with health and safety and sanitation standardsEnsure that food is distributed in high quality and in a timely fashionPerform other duties as requiredQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentRedSeal certification is required1 to 3 years of experience in preparing,
