philanthropy and job‑searching skillsInitiative and a strong work ethicStrong team‑work skills as well as the ability to work independently and with low supervisionCritical‑thinking skillsAdministrative experience and knowledge of Microsoft Word and ExcelReliable transportation (mileage is reimbursed)Current Standard First Aid with CPR‑C certificated within the last 12 months from an approved AB OHS provider. Asset if the certification is issued by one of the following five Canadian organizations: Canadian Red Cross, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Lifesaving Society, St John’s Ambulance and/or Canadian Ski PatrolEvidence of a clear Police Information Check and Vulnerable Sector SearchThree professional referencesWhat does this role look like at YMCA Calgary?Work part‑time, year‑round, in a dynamic program (YMAP) offering support and positive experiences for high school studentsIndependently deliver after‑school sessions in‑person five days each week from September to June for youth with a wide variety of English levels, with some weekends as neededRun or support summer programming for youth during July and AugustAdapt curriculum into daily lesson plans to meet student needsDeliver topics including: self‑esteem, healthy relationships, philanthropy, using Calgary transit, resume writing, global initiatives, and cultural awarenessWork within a team of YMAP CoordinatorsHelp organize special events for youthRecruit participants through in‑school presentationsPrepare and submit monthly reports, attendance, statistics,



and program impact storiesSupport program evaluationProvide drop‑in and referrals for participants when neededBuild and maintain relationships with schools and community organizationsBe an ambassador for YMCA programs in the communityEnsure a clean and safe work environmentWhat qualities do we look for in YMCA Calgary Staff and Volunteers?Our diverse team of staff and volunteers are committed to making a positive impact in the community.
