The company is built around a lean, experienced, multidisciplinary team that delivers practical, cost-effective engineering and project solutions across projects ranging from early-stage studies to detailed design, execution, start-up, and commissioning support.Job OverviewThe Senior Process Engineering Manager will lead the Process Engineering discipline for small to medium-sized EPCM projects in the energy and oil and gas sector.This role is suited to a senior process engineering qualified who can balance technical leadership, project scope, schedule, quality, client expectations, and team management. The successful candidate will provide hands‑on technical oversight while also leading employees, contractors, and multidisciplinary project collaboration.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage the Process Engineering discipline across EPCM projects.Serve as the primary contact for process engineering matters with project managers, clients, and other engineering disciplines.Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, work plans, and discipline deliverables.Ensure process engineering deliverables are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with applicable codes and standards.Lead, develop, and optimize process design from project inception through design completion, start-up, and commissioning support.Develop and review Process Design Criteria, PFDs, P&IDs, process simulations, calculations, heat and mass balances, process narratives, control narratives, and shutdown keys.Participate in HAZIDs, HAZOPs, LOPAs, and other safety reviews.Provide process engineering input into DBMs, cost estimates, schedules, engineered drawings, equipment sizing, specifications, datasheets, RFQs, EWPs, bid evaluations,
and award recommendations.Work closely with clients, project managers, account managers, and internal teams to understand requirements, resolve technical issues, and support project delivery.Prepare technical proposals, reports, and documentation.Lead technical mentoring, team development, performance input, and support for employees and contractors.Oversee quality control within the Process Engineering department.Ensure deliverables meet technical, safety, regulatory, QA/QC, and client requirements.Core CompetenciesStrong knowledge of conventional oil and gas processing, SAGD well pads, central processing facilities, thermal projects, heavy oil pipelines, and related infrastructure.Strong understanding of process engineering codes, standards, engineering practices, and regulatory requirements.Experience with process calculations, simulations, and process engineering tools such as HYSYS, Symmetry, or similar software.Ability to lead multidisciplinary project work in a fast‑paced EPCM environment.Strong client‑facing communication skills and sound technical judgement.Experience supporting safety reviews such as HAZOPs, HAZIDs, and LOPAs.Strong organizational, forecasting, prioritization, and team leadership skills.Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with project teams and senior leadership.Strong QA/QC discipline with the ability to review, check, and sign off on engineering work.Proficiency with standard EPCM engineering workflows, documentation, and project delivery systems.Education and ExperienceBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.Registered as a P.Eng. or P.L.Eng. in good standing with APEGA.Senior‑level process engineering experience within EPCM, energy, oil and gas, SAGD, thermal, heavy oil, or related industrial projects.Experience leading engineers, designers, contractors, or discipline teams is strongly preferred.$200,000 to $250,000 CAD .#J-18808-Ljbffr
