Saint-Gobain Abrasives is looking for an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager for the Plattsville, ON Plant, a great opportunity to join a Top Employer.As the Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager, you will report directly to the Plant Manager and lead all EHS initiatives at our Plattsville, ON facility. You’ll be responsible for driving continuous improvement in safety, health, and environmental performance by engaging employees at all levels.ESSENTIAL DUTIESImplement Saint-Gobain’s EHS initiatives and maintain the site’s environmental and safety management systems.Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies on all EHS mattersDevelop and deliver EHS training programs for employees and contractorsOversee contractor training, permitting, and auditsEnsure compliance with all federal, provincial, and local regulations, including air and greenhouse gas permitting, reporting, and documentation.Lead the ongoing development and execution of the site’s safety program, and risk management and business continuity programsManage training programs covering WHMIS, protected job procedures, hazard identification, accident investigation, and safety responsibilitiesAdvise on equipment and facility design to ensure safety complianceMonitor and ensure compliance with all applicable legislation; prepare and submit required reportsLead investigations of serious incidents and support legal or insurance-related processesManage Workers’ Compensation claims and return-to-work programsConduct SMART and TASK audits and facilitate related trainingResponsible for air, water, and SDS compliance and reportingProvide support across all EHS functions for the site and region as needed. They will work closely with Plant Manager, managers/supervisors,
and employeesREQUIREMENTSPost Secondary education in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field—or equivalent experienceMinimum of 4 years of hands-on EHS experience, including emergency response and regulatory complianceProven track record in developing and supporting formal safety training programsStrong communication skills with the ability to present and report to all levels of the organization.Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment; coated abrasives or similar safety-intensive industry preferred.Canadian Registered Safety Professional designation would be an assetWORKING CONDITIONSWeekend and holiday work required at times. Occasionally long hours. Environment may include exposure to noise, heat & dirt/dusty conditions. Presence on the production floor is essential. The base pay range for this position is $90,500 to $115,000 per year. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus.
