As the largest independently owned marina on Georgian Bay, we understand the importance of exceeding our customers’ expectations.Position OverviewWe are seeking a motivated and customer-focused professional to split time between our parts department and our service department. TheService & Parts Advisorcombines service advisor responsibilities with parts management duties, ensuring smooth service operations and efficient parts inventory handling. The ideal candidate will have experience in marine or automotive service, effective communication skills, and a passion for boating.Customer InteractionsProvide exceptional friendly and professional customer service to all marina patrons by interacting with them in a personable manner to guarantee a pleasant and safe experiencePerform office administration tasks, answering emails and phone callsGreet customers and assess their service needs for boats and marine equipmentAssist customers in selecting and purchasing marine parts, accessories, and suppliesProvide accurate estimates for repairs, maintenance, and service workProcess any client or supplier returnsProcess customer transactions over the phone with the point-of-sale systemReceive client payments and process point-of-sale on merchandise and partsKeep records of parts sales, returns, and exchanges.Essential Job FunctionsContinually strive to meet the Hindson Marina standard of customer experienceFollow, understand, and practice all Hindson Marina policies and procedures (i.E.,



workplace health and safety & HR policies)Maintain explicit communication between customers and the service team, updating them on service progress and completion timelinesCoordinate with service technicians to ensure timely availability of required partsMaintain a clean, orderly and safe working environmentPerform daily till balancing and summit to accounts payableUpdate customer key listOrganize and shelve all merchandise in the Chandlery and parts departmentManage and rotate stock, create displays, organize and shelve merchandise properlyHelp maintain accurate inventory of parts and place orders as needed to replenish stockReceive, inspect, and properly store incoming parts and equipmentMaintain stocking levels throughout the seasonConduct accurate inventory cycle counts and reconciliationEnsure all necessary parts and materials are available for scheduled repairsAccructly process repair orders in a timely mannerWork with vendors and suppliers to source and order specialized partsPerform accurate annual inventoryOrganize and maintain a well‑stocked and labeled parts department.Maintain updated knowledge of products, industry trends,



and methods by attending Trade Shows and Training ProgramsRequest assistance or defer all technical questions to Service or the Parts ManagerPerform any other duties that may be requested by your Manager or OwnerJob Requirements:Minimum 3 years’ experience in a retail marine parts or automotive parts environmentKnowledge of boats and marine systems is requiredKnowledge of outboard and inboard regular maintenance and service schedules is an assetMust be available to work flexible hours during the weekdays and must be able to work every Saturday or Sunday (37.5 – 42.5 hours per week, depending on the season)Must have sound knowledge of MS Office, Email and InternetExperience with LightSpeed computer software or a marine oriented POS system is an assetPossession of a valid G license is preferredValid Pleasure Craft Operators card is an assetPossession of a valid First Aid and CPR Certification is an assetOther Job-Related Soft SkillsMust possess superior customer service skillsMust work well as a team and individuallyMust have strong verbal and written communication skillsDetail‑oriented and works with a high degree of accuracyAbility to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environmentWorking Conditions:Required to move, lift, carry, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50lbs without assistanceStand, sit, or walk for an extended period or for an entire shiftReach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting and pullingMove over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfacesSignificant exposure to varying weather conditionsMay encounter excessive noise from boat engines and equipmentWill encounter noxious smells from wastewater, gasoline and diesel fuelWill encounter hazardous materials, dangerous or toxic substances and chemicalsOn‑site parkingUniform providedCompetitive wagesPPE providedCompany eventsgroup benefits are available for full time staffNOTE: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
