To work with us means approaching each day with a passion for what you do, knowing that you make a difference – to your clients, to your colleagues, to yourself.We’re looking for people who are continuously growing – from Good to Great, from Great to Elite.We’re looking for YOU.As a Senior Accounting Manager a typical day might include:Preparing and delivering timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements with analyses and reports for management in accordance with ASPEAssisting in the completion of all bank and shareholder reporting and managing Cash and ensures appropriate levels of cash are in the correct accountsEnsuring the appropriate split between Operating and Trust cash, ensuring monthly completion of all Trust reconciliations and providing weekly Cash and Trust reportingAssisting in the year-end financial statement engagements and responds to requests from external accountantsWorking with auditors to create a clean opinion on Axis’ audited financial statementsProvides financial analysis as needed for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiationsEnsuring appropriate record keeping and documentation, implementing internal control procedures to mitigate risksCompleting monthly General Ledger reconciliationProviding analysis on variances vs. prior month/year and vs.



budget and ensuring compliance with appropriate regulatory and provincial/federal government reportingAssisting with tax accrual calculations and ensuring appropriate level of controls to safeguard company assetsModifying adapting the accounting policy as needed and reviewing and upgrading accounting software and systemsCollaborating with the HR recruitment team, maintaining, developing, and attracting skilled staffActing as liaison between direct reports, senior management, internal, and external stake holders when issues arise requiring attention and performing staff performance evaluations and makes recommendations as requiredCollaborating with the Director of Finance and other department managers to oversee the development of workflow systems designed to effectively and efficiently manage workload of the teamLeading the team and provides a work environment that is supportive of the productivity and morale of all staffContributing to a positive team environment by working efficiently, professionally, and in a friendly mannerExecuting and facilitating regular meetings with staff:Monitoring and auditing workflowsEnsuring staff feel supported and heard by department leadership teamCommunicating Axis’ goals and achievementsCollaborating with staff to monitor Objectives & Key Results (OKRs)Providing training and mentorshipImmediately dealing with staff issues and working towards a timely resolutionDeveloping and maintaining high service level standards for the departmentYou are passionate about:Providing friendly, professional serviceMaking a positive difference to those around youSharing ideas and working with a great team of proactive, innovative thinkersLearning, growing,
