Applicants who thrive in a positive environment where service excellence is top priority are encouraged to apply.JOB SUMMARYAs a Gardening Supervisor you will work alongside your team to maintain the overall health and appearance of the many gardens across the property of Grouse Mountain. This will include an array of garden types including vegetable, herb, pollinator and local flora and fauna. Other tasks include but are not limited to lawn care, path maintenance and cultivation.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSPlanning for planting and maintaining gardens,
keeping within a pre-determined budgetOverseeing and managing a crew of gardenersScheduling daily tasks and breaksOrdering and purchasing plants for various projectsDeveloping landscaping plansWorking side by side with a crew of gardeners, assisting with tasksEnsuring safe operation of vehiclesTraining staff on power tools and vehiclesOther duties as requiredSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThis position directly provides supervision for the gardeners and other roles which support the gardening team.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIESPrevious experience in gardening or landscapingExperience using power tools such as lawnmowers and weed trimmersValid drivers license requiredExcellent customer service skills and strong interpersonal skillsAbility to lift up to 40 lbsFlexible schedule with ability to work shifts as early as 5:30am when requiredPrevious experience in a supervisory position an assetWORKING CONDITIONSHours of Operation are weather dependant. Due to the nature of the business, this position requires flexibility in terms of your work schedule. A variety of work schedules may include a variety of start times, including shifts on weekends and statutory holidays.
