Although Mission is part of a broader metropolitan area, it still maintains its distinct and welcoming small-town flavor.Job DescriptionThe City of Mission’s Information Services Division is seeking an analytical problem solver with excellent communication and troubleshooting skills to join our multi-disciplinary team as a full time User Support Technician I.You will perform a variety of technical and operational tasks in the provision of computer support and problem resolution services.
You will be responsible for investigating and resolving software and hardware incidents; referring major and unresolved problems to appropriate senior technical staff; performing a variety ofsystem administration tasks; assisting in the evaluation of hardware and software and installing and configuring same; and providing basic staff training.QualificationsThe ideal candidate will have completed a one-year certificate program in computer technology or a related discipline at a technical institute or community college and have a minimum of 1-year related experience in a similar computer system support environment. You must have sound knowledge of Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) and the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework. The ability to obtain and maintain RCMP Reliability/Security Clearance – Level II (Secret) is mandatory.Additional InformationThe 2025 rate of pay for this CUPE position is $36.91 per hour plus full benefits, including pension, upon completion of probation.
