This job is in many locations across BC, and we are mainly servicing open‑pit mining operations.Duties and ResponsibilitiesInspect, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair various types and brands of heavy mining equipment.Utilize computerized and other testing equipment to determine repairs and create detailed service reports.Transmission and drive‑train repairs: repairing or replacing transmission components, differential gears,



and drive shafts.Interpret and complete both scheduled and unscheduled work orders.Contribute to the ongoing reliability of all heavy equipment and complete preventative maintenance requirements.Test repaired equipment to verify proper maintenance.Make recommendations regarding repairs and methods for improvement.RequirementsMust have a minimum of 3 years of recent experience working in the field out of a service truck.Must have experience working on mining equipment.Preferred machine brands: Hitachi, CAT, John Deere, Komatsu.Must be a Journeyman Heavy Duty Off‑Road Technician, 421A.Red Seal required.Solid experience diagnosing and troubleshooting.All Successful Candidates MustBe proficient in English, both verbal and written.Have a valid Class 5 Driver’s License.Pass a Criminal Record check.Provide a clean 5‑year driver’s abstract.Pass an 8‑panel drug test (including marijuana) and alcohol breath test.Be able to lift 50 lbs. comfortably.Not be seeking sub‑contractor roles.Big Country is an equal prospect employer committed to providing equal employment opportunities without discrimination or harassment based on race, religion, national origin, status, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, marital or domestic/civil partnership status, or any other protected status under the law.
