Our products help the grid adapt to severe weather and transition to clean energy.Position TitleAssociate Mechanical DesignerWork ArrangementHybrid (2 days WFH)CompensationAt S&C;, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members and are committed to transparency in our pay practices. The estimated annual base salary range for this position is$54,630 - $72,387.40. Individual pay within this salary range is determined by several compensable factors, including performance, knowledge, job-related skills and experience, and relevant education or training.This position may also be eligible for S&C;’s annual incentive plan (AIP). AIP amounts are variable and are dependent on both company and individual performance, subject to eligibility criteria. The target bonus percentage for this role is 4% of annual base earnings.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign mechanical layout and manufacturing drawings of Metal Enclosed Switchgear per established industry and internal standards using CAD software.Apply theoretical and practical knowledge of engineering concepts, materials, electrical and mechanical systems, and their components for switchgear manufacturing.Prepare bills of materials for design-to-manufacture components, and external purchase items,
for complete switchgear assembly.Manage drawing updates to ensure latest revisions using internal drawing management tools.Prepare and issue engineering change notices and orders for product release and engineering design changes.Continuously develop switchgear application and design knowledge.Support other departments in the production process such as fabrication, welding, and final assembly.What We Are Looking ForDiploma or bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology or a similar field.2+ years of experience designing switchgear or equivalent mechanical design experience.Working knowledge of MicroStation, Solid Edge, or AutoCAD.Knowledge of manufacturing methods and techniques.Knowledge of computer programming skills such as C, C++, or VBA is a strong asset.Strong communication and organization skills as well an eye for detail.Team player with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Physical EffortNormal or frequent minor physical effort required for the day-to-day activity in the workplace.
