Our culture is built on collaboration, innovation, and respect, creating an environment where employees can grow, contribute, and succeed.About The RoleWe are seeking two dependable and proactive Lead Hands to join our production team, supporting either our Extrusion or Decoral Finishing operations.The Lead Hand plays a key role in supporting daily production by providing leadership, ensuring quality control, maintaining machine efficiency, and guiding production personnel. This role works closely with the Supervisor to ensure production schedules are met while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and operational performance.This position is based at our Abbotsford facility on Clearbrook Road, working 40 hours per week. The role begins with a training schedule from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, transitioning to an afternoon shift between 2:00 PM and 02:30 AM.This is a hands‑on leadership role within a manufacturing environment, where you will balance team support, production coordination, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure consistent, high‑quality output.About YouYou are a hands‑on leader who thrives in a fast‑paced manufacturing setting. and the ability to motivate and support a team while ensuring production goals are achieved safely and efficiently.Qualifications & Experience2+ years of production experienceGrade 12 high school diploma or equivalentProven experience in a manufacturing environment with leadership responsibilitiesEssential SkillsStrong leadership skills with the ability to train, mentor, and support team membersProven ability in planning, organizing, motivating, controlling, and problem‑solvingStrong decision‑making and troubleshooting abilitiesAbility to work collaboratively with production and maintenance teamsFamiliarity with safety policies including LO/TO and PPE requirementsAbility to read and write EnglishAbility to lift 35/50 lbs repetitivelyExperience working in an ISO 9001:2015 or 14001:2015 environment is an assetERP system knowledge is an assetLean White/Yellow Belt certification or familiarity with Lean concepts is an assetWhat You Will DoLeadership: Lead and mentor a team of production operators, providing guidance on machine operations, troubleshooting, and quality controlSupport onboarding and training of new team members on safety protocols and machine proceduresProduction Oversight: Coordinate daily production activities and ensure work orders are completed on time and according to specificationsMonitor machine efficiency and adjust processes to maintain optimal production flowQuality Assurance: Conduct regular quality checks to ensure products meet required specifications and standardsEnsure correct profiles, finishes, and production sequences are followedAddress quality issues promptly and work to reduce scrapTroubleshooting & Problem Solving:
Identify and resolve equipment or material‑related issues impacting productionCollaborate with maintenance teams to minimize downtimeSafety Leadership: Enforce company safety policies and ensure proper use of PPEConduct daily safety checks and report hazardsDocumentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate production logs, quality reports, and shift summariesCommunicate production status, machine performance, and issues to the SupervisorEnsure counts, labels, and data entry are accurate before materials leave the workstationProcess Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce waste, and enhance qualityProvide feedback and suggestions to support continuous improvement initiativesInventory & Material Coordination: Ensure materials, logs, dies, and machines are prepared and queued for productionTrack material usage and report discrepanciesAbout The TeamOur production team at Longboard Architectural Products is collaborative, hands‑on, and focused on continuous improvement.
