Our Mine Maintenance, Planning & Reliability team is the place to be!As a student, you'll get hands‑on experience with heavy equipment, contributing to the design and optimization of maintenance strategies for our mining machines. You'll be troubleshooting equipment issues, analyzing performance data to predict failures, and helping us implement innovative maintenance solutions. You'll work alongside experienced engineers and tradespeople while making a real impact on the efficiency and sustainability of our mining operations.If you are mechanically inclined, have an interest in machinery and do not mind getting your hands dirty, this opportunity is perfect for you!Job location:Fort McMurray, AB - Horizon or Albian SandsShift schedule:8 days on, 6 days off, working 10 hours per shiftTerm lengths:12 monthsTerm start:January or September 2027Safety sensitive position:YesKey Accountabilities:Assist in developing cost-effective maintenance strategies for our fleet of shovels, trucks, and various support equipmentParticipate in the identification of equipment bad actors and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement sustainable solutionsSupport condition monitoring activities by analyzing equipment health data, inspection findings, and predictive maintenance indicators to identify emerging reliability risksReview maintenance histories, costs,



and key performance indicators to identify opportunities for reliability improvement and optimize equipment performancePrepare and compile maintenance and reliability statistics to support equipment availability, cost management, and continuous improvement initiativesParticipate in the development and updating of equipment maintenance standards, procedures, and reliability best practices while maintaining an unwavering commitment to safety and Canadian Natural's core safety valuesWhat You Bring to the Role:Currently enrolled in bachelor’s degree program in Mechanical or Mining engineering is preferredInterest in heavy equipment maintenance and reliabilityMotivated and positive attitudeProficiency in data analysis and reportingPossess a valid Class 5 Alberta driver’s license or equivalent out of province license with a reasonably clean driver abstractRequired to be physically and mentally fit for workA pre-employment drug screening test must be successfully completedWhat We Offer:Quality camp facilities with multiple amenities availableMultiple volunteer opportunities within the communityCompany Sponsored Fly-In/Fly-Out from Calgary or Edmonton, AlbertaStudents may be eligible for relocation assistance pursuant to Canadian Natural's Student Relocation Policy.
