It hosts up to 14 families and is staffed 24/7 with at least 2 staff per shift. Its goals are healthier pregnancies and births, keeping mothers and newborns together, reuniting parents with children in care, and increasing family wellness through programming for addictions, parenting, prenatal health, and healthy living skills.ResponsibilitiesThe Program Support Workers provide supervision,
mentoring and support to program participants guided by trauma‑informed practice and harm reduction principles.Duties include:Offering one‑on‑one coaching and encouragement.Assisting participants to develop parenting and life skills.Providing transportation for participants to medical appointments, activities and events as needed.QualificationsGeneral knowledge of problematic substance use, maternal mental health, infant and baby care, and related family and individual dysfunction.Solid communication, relationship‑building, advocacy and conflict‑resolution skills.Previous experience working in a group home setting and/or with families facing similar challenges is an asset.Shifts and AvailabilityShifts may include evenings, overnights and weekends.
