Business Analyst – Model Risk Management (MRM)

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with strong hands-on experience in Model Risk Management (MRM) to support model governance, regulatory requirements, and MRM-related initiatives with our banking client, based in the GTA.

Key Responsibilities

- Partner directly with Model Risk teams, Model Owners, and Model Validators to support MRM processes and initiatives.
- Gather and document business requirements, workflows, process maps, and functional specifications related to Model Risk Management.
- Support model governance, model inventory management, model lifecycle management, model validation workflows, and model tiering/classification.
- Assist with tracking and supporting remediation of model findings, issues, and regulatory requirements.
- Support implementation and enhancement of MRM platforms and governance tools, such as Archer, OpenPages, or model inventory systems.
- Help ensure processes align with applicable model risk regulatory frameworks, including SR 11-7 and/or SS1/23.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to identify process gaps and drive improvements across the model governance lifecycle.





Required Skills & Experience

- Strong Business Analyst experience with direct hands-on exposure to a Model Risk Management (MRM) function.
- Experience with:
- Model Governance
- Model Inventory Management
- Model Validation Workflows
- Model Lifecycle Management
- Model Tiering / Classification
- Model Findings and Issue Remediation
- Experience working directly with Model Owners, Model Validators, Independent Model Validation (IMV), and Model Risk teams.
- Knowledge of regulatory model risk frameworks, including SR 11-7 and/or SS1/23.
- Experience supporting MRM governance platforms or tools such as Archer, OpenPages, or Model Inventory systems.
- Strong requirements gathering, stakeholder management, process mapping, and documentation skills.

Significant Note

This role requires direct Model Risk Management experience. Candidates whose backgrounds are primarily focused on general data management, risk reporting, risk data, capital markets, trading platforms, or general Business Analysis without direct MRM exposure may not be suitable.
