Veolia Environnement (Paris Euronext: VIE) will achieve consolidated sales of 28.508 billion euros in 2021.Job DescriptionThe Maintenance Manager is responsible for (but not limited to):Directs the development of maintenance strategies consistent with businessrequirements, objectives, and established financial goals.Leads a team of skilled mechanical, electrical, instrument and controls, andmaintenance professionals providing 24-hour services for the plant.Develops overall maintenance schedules to maintain equipment availability andcoordinate planned outages.Continually searches out and develops recent technical improvements and businessstrategies for maintenance and reliability excellence.Represents a key stakeholder in overseeing plant warehousing and inventorymanagement including spare parts and tools inventories.Manages the successful implementation utilization of the CMMS system as well asthe Asset Management program.Works closely with management on site and in conjunction with Operations,Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety departments, and senior staff tocoordinate daily activities and long term maintenance planning.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintains plant equipment and infrastructure, collaborating with Operationsand Engineering to optimize performance, reliability, and efficiency whileminimizing costs.Establishes and manages maintenance schedules, plans (work orders,procedures, cost control), and reports on activities.Improves work quality through employee motivation, new technology, processrevisions, and directs training and performance evaluations for maintenancepersonnel.Develops and supervises an in-house team, evaluates contract needs,provides instruction, sets work standards, inspects compliance, writesspecifications, negotiates contracts, and manages projects.Manages operating and capital budgets for the Maintenance Department,assisting the Asset Manager with annual budgets and monitoringexpenditures for best value.Leads safety and environmental programs, ensuring compliance, prioritizingemployee safety and plant reliability,



and identifying improvementopportunities.Monitors cross-department functions to improve coordination and ensuresresponsiveness of the work order system.Establishes, directs, and monitors periodic, predictive, and preventivemaintenance programs, including plant outages, instrument calibration, andlubrication schedules.Evaluates productivity and labor requirements, making staffingrecommendations and conducting facility inspections.Manages plant warehousing, inventory, and spare parts ordering, utilizingcontrol systems for budgetary impact, efficiency, and contingency planning.Collaborates with senior staff on company policies, procedures, guidelines,financial controls, and leads company initiatives.Performs other related duties as required.QualificationsKnowledge, Experience and Required CertificationsPossession of a valid Red Seal trade certificate in electrical, millwright, or arelated field, or actively working towards certification.A minimum of five years of hands-on or supervisory experience in themaintenance field is required.Power Engineering certification or any maintenance-related certification(Power Engineering certification or any maintenance-related certification(Maintenance Management Professional (MMP) /Certified Maintenance andReliability Professional) is considered an asset.A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or an Engineering TechnologyDiploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation & Controls is a plus.Proficient in the operation and maintenance of thermal power plants,especially Boiler and Steam Turbine systems, with previous experience inlarge-scale industrial plant environments being a strong asset.Possessing strong leadership and supervisory skills, managing teams indynamic environments, comfortable with both union and non-union laborrelations, and experienced in working with trades.Proficiency in computerized maintenance management software (CMMS) isrequired, along with experience in building and maintaining a computerizedpreventative maintenance management system.Proficiency in materials, inventory, and budget management, along withproject cost estimating and cost/benefit analysis.This role requires a commitment to customer service and workplaceexcellence, demonstrated by a flexible, detail-oriented, and professionalapproach to problem-solving and conflict resolution,



an entrepreneurialmindset for process improvement and equipment reliability, and the ability towork both independently and collaboratively within a team.Proficiency in computer skills, including database management,spreadsheets, email, and word processing software, is essential. Familiaritywith Microsoft Office Suite and Windows operating systems is preferred.Work EnvironmentPhysical RequirementsMust be able to work, occasionally for prolonged periods, in extremes of hot and cold temperatures and inclement weather conditions.Must be able to tolerate dust and other airborne particles and work around cleaning products and other materials such as biomass, diesel and lube oils. Under certain conditions while working in the plant, may be required to wear a respirator.Required to wear safety equipment and clothing where appropriate.Ability to work from ladders, scaffolds, and high-lifts, and in confined spaces.Travel RequirementsPeriodic travel to the other sites may be required.Emergency Status DesignationCritical - Must be able to serve rotational 24 hour emergency on-call if required by site.Working HoursPermanant position, offered on a full time basis, with a schedule from Monday to Friday.The plant operates 24/7, and the selected candidate must be available to work evenings and weekends if required to meet operational needs or for emergency shutdown projects.Salary Range$120,000-$160,000Additional InformationWhy join our team of researchers?
