The Team Lead shall ensure that production schedules are followed and completed on time, and within budget.Key ResponsibilitiesExpedite production and manage workflow to ensure that all targets are met on time and to quality standardsMonitor and report on the performance of team members to the Manufacturing ManagerIn absence of Manufacturing Manager: Assigns work for plant staff, ensures production is controlled and maintainedResponsible for resolving minor conflicts between employees or addressing minor performance issues. All such incidents are to be reported to their manager. The Manufacturing Manager shall be informed as soon as possible, so that an investigation and the determination of any formal disciplinary action can be completed.Oversee their assigned shift in a professional manner, ensuring compliance with labour standards, health and safety policies, corporate standards, skills and training, housekeeping, and efficiency/productivityEnsures plant workers perform their duties in a safe manner and with the protective devices, measures and procedures required by applicable government Acts and Regulations, including ensuring the use of the appropriate protective equipment.Must become familiar with the rules and safety programs applicable, follow prescribed health and safety policies and procedures and participate in the process of identifying, reporting, and assisting in eliminating risks to the health and safety in the workplace.Advises Health and Safety Committee and management of the existence of any potential or actual danger to the health and safety of the worker.Follow all applicable company policies and procedures.Identify and resolve Production Planning issues created by material/component shortages and changing production schedulesLook for opportunities and adhere to practices for reduction of waste and materialsDemonstrate equipment operations and work and safety procedures to new employees, or assign employees to experienced workers for trainingProvide an environment that cultivates and enforces continuous improvement, open communication, and superior customer serviceMake decisions in a timely manner, under tight deadlines and pressureEnsure that work orders are completed in a timely fashion and within budgetWork with other Team Leads to coordinate operations and activities within and between departmentsReport anticipated and actual deviances from the plan to the Manufacturing Manager and Customer Service immediatelyEnsure all product is built in accordance with ISO 9001 requirementsIdentifies and communicates with the management team potential risks and opportunities for improvementGenerate and communicate the job rotation schedule for the shift ensuring team members have the skill and ability to complete the jobAssist with break relief as requiredAssist with QA and print set-up as requiredCover any manpower shortages to ensure the schedule is attainedComplete new operator training and paperworkAllocate foils and work orders into the proper bins for the material handlersCreate labels as required for moulding and finished goodsComplete monthly attainment folder at the end of each shift for dispensers and insertsRecord cover scrap at the end of each shiftUpdate the planning schedule to reflect production progress throughout the shiftReview and sign all work orders at the end of each shift to ensure accuracy and completenessComplete SAP production entriesPerform other duties and special projects as required.Required ExperienceHigh School DiplomaPrevious manufacturing supervisory skills acquired through previous work experiencePreferred Experiences And SkillsExcellent knowledge of company product line, product codes, packaging, supplies, equipment, and inventory control of these items.Supervisory courses are an asset.Demonstrated knowledge of operation of plant equipment including injection moulding equipment.WHMIS and health and safety training an asset.Knowledge of health and safety regulations an assetMotor skills and manual dexterity to assemble product and operate plant equipment.Interpersonal/negotiating skills to deal with team members within and across departmentsDemonstrated sound judgement in decision-makingBasic mathematical skills to conduct inventory countVerbal communication skills to deal with fellow workersWritten communication skills to prepare production reportsWorking knowledge of company policies and proceduresRead and interpret documents such as safety rules, instructions, procedure manuals and personnel policiesCurrent First Aid certification an assetMust be willing to take part in QA and Print set up training at Dispensing if not already trainedApply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions.Job Requirements40 hours per weekMust be open to work various shiftsOther duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice as assigned by the Manager. The job description does not constitute a contract of employment. The Company's Total Rewards package is at or above industry levels. The expected base salary range for this position is between 43,000.00 CAD - 56,500.00 CAD. Job related skills, experience, education, and location will be considered in setting actual starting base salary. In addition to your base salary and depending on job level, eligibility, and performance, a total package may include profit sharing, a short-term incentive and/or long-term incentives.
