Reporting to the Electrical Division Manager, this leadership role is responsible for overseeing, organizing, and expanding the service operations of our commercial electrical business.This position requires a highly experienced electrical professional with strong leadership abilities, technical expertise, and a proven track record in managing teams and service operations. The successful candidate will ensure the consistent delivery of high‑quality electrical services while maintaining efficiency, safety standards, and customer satisfaction.As a key leader within the organization, the Electrical Service Department Manager will oversee daily service operations, manage field technicians, and coordinate scheduling, workload distribution, and project execution. This role also plays a critical part in driving business growth, improving operational processes, and ensuring profitability of the service division.The ideal candidate will act as the main liaison between clients, field teams, and office staff, proactively resolving service issues, and ensuring a high standard of customer service. With robust knowledge of electrical systems, the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC), and service‑based business operations,



this role is essential to the continued success and growth of Centre Electric & Technology.Key ResponsibilitiesThis is a full‑time position requiring a minimum of 40 hours per week, working in the office from Monday to Friday. Your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:Operations ManagementOversee day‑to‑day service department operations, including scheduling, dispatching, and project executionTrack van maintenance schedules and work with technicians to manage these servicesWork with the scheduling department on new and existing work orders and provide info for scheduling purposesEnsure timely and efficient completion of service calls, maintenance work, and small projectsDevelop and implement standard operating procedures to improve workflow and productivityMonitor job progress, costs, and performance metrics to ensure profitabilitySupervise, mentor, and evaluate electricians, technicians, and administrative staffOrganize and manage weekly/monthly service department meetingsFoster a positive, safety‑first work environmentProvide ongoing training and professional development opportunitiesCustomer RelationsServe as the primary point of contact for key service clientsBuild and maintain strong relationships to drive repeat businessResolve customer concerns and ensure high levels of satisfactionReview service reports and ensure clear communication with clientsPrepare and manage departmental budgets and forecastsReview estimates, proposals,



and invoices for accuracy and profitabilityTrack KPIs such as revenue, margins, and technician utilizationIdentify opportunities to grow service revenue and improve efficiencySales & Business DevelopmentSupport sales efforts by identifying upsell and cross‑sell opportunitiesDevelop maintenance agreements and long‑term service contractsCollaborate with the estimating and project teams to secure new workCompliance & SafetyEnsure all work complies with applicable electrical codes, regulations, and company standardsEnforce safety policies and procedures in accordance with industry standardsConduct regular safety meetings and site inspectionsRequirementsMinimum 5 years of experience in commercial electrical serviceCustomer Service: Deliver professional, responsive support and ensure positive client satisfactionTechnical Knowledge: A deep understanding of electrical systems, the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC), safety standards, and building regulations.Problem‑Solving: The ability to troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues efficiently and safely.Attention to Detail: The ability to ensure that all installations are up to code, safe, and functional, which requires precision and thoroughness in all aspects of their work.Strong leadership, organizational, and strategic planning skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.Working ConditionsCombination of office and field environmentMay require occasional travel to job sitesOn‑call availability for emergency service situationsCompetitive wages (based on experience)Performance‑based bonusesCompany vehicleHealth and dental benefitsRRSP matching contributionsOpportunities for professional growth and advancement#J-18808-Ljbffr
