Buyer & Jr. Buyer

Our client, a well-established manufacturing organization in Scarborough, is currently seeking a Jr. Buyer/Buyer to support its procurement department. This role focuses on sourcing and managing materials for secondary and tertiary packaging, labels, and MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations) supplies. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities within a fast-paced supply chain environment.

Responsibilities:
Manage supplier quotations and maintain accurate data in internal systems
Create and issue purchase orders for packaging materials and MRO supplies
Support development of new secondary/tertiary packaging materials
Track and coordinate sample requests and update project records
Confirm delivery dates, update ERP systems, and follow up on past-due orders
Source new materials and obtain quotes including MOQ, pricing, and lead times




Assist with alternate sourcing initiatives for cost or supply improvements
Monitor MRO inventory levels and identify cost-effective suppliers
Negotiate pricing, timelines, and quality requirements with vendors
Communicate effectively with internal departments to support procurement needs

Qualifications:
Procurement experience
Post-secondary education in a related field
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Knowledge of carton or label packaging considered an asset
