Job Overview

We are looking for a skilled and reliable Excavator Operator to join our Shallow Underground Utilities Division. In this role, you will be responsible for operating excavators and other heavy equipment to assist in various construction projects. Your expertise will help ensure that projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to high standards. The ideal candidate is experienced with heavy machinery, has a solid understanding of construction processes, and enjoys working outdoors in dynamic environments.

Responsibilities
Operate excavators safely and efficiently to perform tasks such as digging, trenching, lifting, and material handling.
Assist with the setup and breakdown of work sites, including positioning equipment and preparing the area for construction activities.
Maintain the equipment by conducting routine inspections, cleaning, and reporting any mechanical issues promptly.
Collaborate with team members to execute project plans accurately and on schedule.
Support other heavy machinery operations such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and pavers as needed.
Follow all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working workplace for everyone on site.




Read blueprints and site plans to understand project requirements and execute tasks accordingly.

Qualifications
Proven experience operating excavators in a construction setting; familiarity with Caterpillar machinery is a plus.
Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
Ability to operate additional machinery such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and pavers is highly desirable.
Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) or equivalent certification preferred.
Knowledge of horizontal drilling techniques and other specialized construction methods is beneficial.
Prior experience in construction or related fields demonstrating hands-on heavy equipment operation skills.
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.

Pay: $25.14-$42.52 per hour
