Site Superintendent - Multi-family residentialAbout the job Site Superintendent - Multi-family residentialLocation:Edmonton, ABEmployment Type:Full-timeSalary Range:$100,000 $140,000 yearly (depending on experience)Scope of WorkA growingconstruction companyspecializing inhigh-quality residential and multi-residential projectsin the Edmonton area is seeking askilled and experienced Construction Site Superintendentto oversee all aspects ofon-site operationsformulti-family, apartment-style, 4+ storey, wood frame construction projectsfrom start to finish.The successful candidate will ensure that projects are executed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and compliance.Key ResponsibilitiesSite Management:Oversee daily in office operations, including scheduling, coordination, and supervision of trades and subcontractors.Project Execution:Ensure all construction activities align with project plans, specifications, and safety standards.Quality Assurance:Maintain high-quality standards through inspections and timely resolution of discrepancies.Safety Compliance:Enforce health and safety regulations and foster a culture of safety on site.Resource Management:Manage materials, equipment, and workforce efficiently to prevent delays and cost overruns.Reporting:Provide regular progress reports to the Construction Manager and project stakeholders, addressing milestones and potential challenges.Team Collaboration:Promote effective communication among project teams, clients,
and partners.General DutiesSupervise daily field operations in compliance with company policies and safety standards.Coordinate subcontractors and trades to ensure timely project completion.Monitor progress and make schedule or resource adjustments as needed.Conduct inspections to ensure adherence to project drawings, codes, and quality expectations.Collaborate with project management on budgeting, procurement, and resource allocation.Review and interpret schematics and blueprints to guide construction activities.Assist with estimating and bidding processes when required.Communicate clearly with stakeholders regarding progress, challenges, and milestones.Qualifications & RequirementsMinimum10 years of construction experience, with at least5 years as a Site Superintendentoverseeing multi-family, 4-storey (or higher) wood frame residential projects with parkades.Strong understanding oflocal building codes, OH&S; standards, and permitting requirements .Provenleadership, organization, and team managementskills.Excellentcommunication, problem-solving, and decision-makingabilities.Proficient inMicrosoft Officeand construction management tools/software.ValidClass 5 drivers licenseand access to a reliable vehicle.Skilled inreading blueprints and schematics .Experience inbudgeting and quality control ; estimating experience considered an asset.Physical & Additional RequirementsAbility to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and safely climb ladders or stairs.Use ofPersonal Protective Equipment (PPE)such as steel-toed boots and hard hats is mandatory.Willingness to work evenings and weekends as required by project schedules.Why Join Us?Our company is committed to buildingexceptional projects and careers.
