At Nurse Next Door, a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Wound Care provides one-on-one clinical home health care. The role focuses on helping clients recover safely at home by managing complex and chronic wounds, preventing complications, and delivering personalized care plans.

Core Responsibilities

Direct Wound Management: Perform aseptic wound cleanses, dressing changes, suture/staple removals, and topical treatments for surgical wounds, pressure injuries, venous leg ulcers, and diabetic foot ulcers.

Assessments & Documentation: Perform clinical head-to-toe assessments, evaluate wound progression (measuring size, exudate, and tissue bed), track vitals, and document details accurately in the mobile care system.

Care Plan Execution: Execute and update individual care plans in coordination with the local franchise Care Designer and primary care physicians.

Client & Family Education: Educate clients and families on infection control, nutrition for healing, blood glucose management (for diabetic wounds), and offloading pressure.

Supply Coordination:



Liaise with local pharmacies or supply providers to ensure proper clinical dressings and equipment are delivered to the client’s home.

Qualifications & Requirements

Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in valuable standing with the local state or provincial regulatory board (e.g., BCCNM, CNO, etc.).

Experience: Minimum of 1+ year of clinical nursing experience, with strong proficiency in wound care, dressing selection, and infection prevention. (Certified Wound Care Nurse [CWCN] or specialized wound training is an asset).

Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification.

Background Checks: Clean criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening and valid TB test results.

Mobility: Valid driver’s license, reliable personal vehicle, and auto insurance for traveling between client homes.

Schedule: Flexible scheduling (casual, part time, or full-time shifts across days, evenings, and weekends).

Setting: Independent travel and 1-on-1 care inside clients' homes or residential facilities.

Pay: $33.00-$42.00 per hour
