Key Responsibilities:
Carpentry and finish carpentry duties as required by supervisor
Fitting and installing trim, doors, stairs, moulding and hardware
Measuring, cutting and joining materials made of wood with precision
Maintaining cleanliness of work space
Provide direction and mentorship to carpenter’s helpers and labourers
Communicate effectively with supervisor and support labour
Skills and Abilities:
Sound knowledge of finish carpentry aspects in residential construction
Ability to read and interpret blueprints
Reliable and adaptable
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Must have positive communication and listening skills
Ability to solve project problems and maintain high standards
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent or enrollment in a co-op or Apprenticeship Program
Driver’s license
Working at Heights, WHMIS training is an asset
General Information:
Permanent Full time
8-hour shifts Monday to Friday - Overtime may be required occasionally
Must own basic hand tools, safety equipment and transportation
