Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Safety Officer for a temporary to possible permanent position. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and compliance of our clients construction site. This position requires identifying potential hazards, implementing safety protocols, and fostering a culture of safety. A background in construction is mandatory.
Responsibilities
Conduct regular safety inspections and audits on construction sites to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures to promote a secure working environment.
Provide training and guidance to employees on protected work practices and emergency procedures.
Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions.
Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to address safety concerns promptly.
Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, and incident reports.
Requirements
Proven experience in a safety officer role within the construction industry
Robust knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
Relevant accreditation as a NCSO
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to $28.50 per hour
Expected hours: 44.0 per week
Work Location: In person
