Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Drywall Mud Taper to join our construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for applying joint compound (mud) to drywall seams and finishing surfaces to create smooth, professional walls ready for painting or other finishes. Your expertise will help ensure high-quality results on residential or commercial projects, contributing to the overall excellence of our craftsmanship. This position offers an engaging opportunity for individuals passionate about construction, with a focus on drywall finishing and surface preparation.

Responsibilities
Prepare drywall surfaces by taping joints, applying multiple coats of mud, and sanding to achieve a seamless finish
Read and interpret blueprints and construction plans to ensure accurate application of drywall finishing techniques
Mix and apply joint compound efficiently, ensuring proper coverage and smoothness across all surfaces
Use hand tools such as taping knives, sanders, and trowels to achieve exact finishes
Perform caulking around edges and seams to seal gaps and enhance the durability of the finish
Collaborate with carpenters, painters,



and other trades to coordinate project timelines and quality standards
Maintain a clean work setting by properly storing tools and disposing of debris in accordance with safety guidelines

Qualifications
Prior experience in drywall finishing, taping, or related construction work is highly preferred
Knowledge of construction painting, carpentry, caulking, and blueprint reading is advantageous
Hands-on handyman experience or general construction experience is a plus
Ability to read technical drawings and follow detailed instructions accurately
Robust attention to detail with a focus on achieving high-quality finishes
Excellent teamwork skills and a proactive attitude toward safety protocols
Physical ability to stand, bend, lift heavy materials, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the workday
