We are looking for a Compliance & Privacy Officer to join a non-profit organization in Vancouver, British Columbia on a Long-term Contract basis.

This position will play a key role in strengthening governance, supporting privacy obligations, and improving internal controls across the organization.

The successful candidate will work closely with leadership and internal teams to guide policy development, assess regulatory risk, and promote sound compliance practices in day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities: Lead the design, upkeep, and ongoing review of compliance and quality programs that support robust governance and regulatory alignment across the organization.

Create and refine policies, standard operating procedures, forms, and oversight frameworks to improve consistency, accountability, and operational effectiveness.

Deliver organization-wide training and awareness initiatives that help employees understand compliance expectations, privacy obligations, and related internal practices.

Advise business leaders and process owners on regulatory requirements, control gaps,



and practical steps to reduce compliance exposure and strengthen internal processes.

Review contracts, agreements, and template documents to identify legal or compliance concerns and recommend updates that better protect organizational interests.

Support responsible AI oversight by evaluating compliance implications and helping establish appropriate governance measures, policies, and safeguards.

Oversee reporting and monitoring activities tied to external standards and accreditation requirements, including the preparation of annual submissions.

Conduct compliance reviews and risk assessments for key business functions, then recommend corrective and preventive actions to address identified issues.

Maintain the privacy management program in accordance with applicable Canadian privacy laws, contractual commitments, and recognized best practices.

Work with external legal counsel and internal stakeholders on regulatory matters, privacy issues, contractual interpretation, and broader risk management needs.
