The Education Maintenance Worker is responsible for maintaining the Little Peoples Learning Lodge (LPLL) and Daycare and Head Start buildings, grounds, equipment, and outdoor play areas to ensure they remain protected, clean, functional, and suitable for children, staff and visitors. Roles & Responsibilities

Complete routine maintenance, minor repairs, painting, patching, furniture assembly, and basic repairs to doors, locks, windows, fixtures, and shelving. Inspect classrooms, offices, washrooms, kitchens, entrances, playgrounds, equipment, fencing, and exterior areas. Identify hazards, damaged equipment, building concerns, and repairs requiring qualified trades or specialized services. Coordinate vendors and contractors under the direction of the Education Coordinator. Clear snow and ice; mow grass and complete seasonal grounds maintenance. Provide cleaning and sanitation support when required. Safely store tools, ladders, chemicals, cleaning products, and maintenance materials away from children.



Follow PRNFN health and safety policies, WHMIS requirements, and safety procedures. Maintain preventative maintenance, inventory, and daily work-order records. Work cooperatively with LPLL, Daycare and Head Start staff and other PRNFN employees. Qualifications & Requirements

Previous maintenance, custodial, construction, or groundskeeping experience is preferred. Basic knowledge of building maintenance, repairs, tools, lawn care, snow removal, and workplace safety is required. WHMIS, First Aid/CPR, trades or related safety training are assets. Must be reliable, self-motivated, able to work independently, and capable of physical duties indoors and outdoors. A satisfactory CPIC and Vulnerable Sector Check are required. Valid drivers license and reliable transportation are assets. Hours: 6 hours per day, MondayFriday.
