Your innovative and solutions-focused approach to pattern making ensures that each product you and your team work on meet Arc’teryx design intent, quality, fit, and construction. You demonstrate integrity in your work, lead by example, and provide overall support and coaching to the Pattern Makers.Meet your future team:We are a small, high performing team that works closely with all aspects of product creation. The work we do behind the scenes supports designers and pattern makers to accomplish go-to-market deliverables. You will be part of a focused team of pattern makers, product developers, designers, and a cut and sew team that works on creating innovative product. Our team builds strong relationships with cross-functional partners to realize ideas into commercialized successes.Core responsibilitiesSupporting the Manager, Pattern Making and Director, Product Development in building, coaching, and guiding a high performing team of technical Pattern Makers, and owning the day-to-day leadership of the teamTraining the team to interpret design intent and overseeing the creation of concept, prototype and base size approved patterns; ensuring that methods and documentation are consistent with known factory methods and processesPartnering with Product Operations on calendar requirements, ensuring timelines are met throughout the product creation process by managing workloads amongst team membersActing as a key partner to design in establishing standard fit by product type/category and end-use,



and ensuring product size and fit consistencyOversee the documentation of construction standards and illustrated technical specifications for all productReporting regularly on prototype and sample progress to Product Development leadership to ensure product creation deadlines are metManaging a limited repertoire of complex models as the technical pattern making experts, ensuring Arc’teryx brand standards are consistently metUpholding Fair Labor Association’s Workplace Code of Conduct and Principles of Fair Labor and Responsible Sourcing, throughout the Arc’teryx supply chainFuture projectsWorking on high visibility projects supporting strategic needs for the futureProject management of custom calendar projectsBuilding your leadership capabilities and supporting the ongoing development of our talentAre you our next Pattern Making Lead?You have 8+ years’ experience in pattern making, with a minimum of 2 years at a senior level with an emphasis on technical / innovative apparel and equipment, or equivalent additional experience in lieuYou have an Undergraduate Degree OR equivalent industry training, certification, or related business experienceYou have a complete understanding of the product lifecycle process - from ideation to consumerYou have a comprehensive understanding of design intent, product aesthetics, construction, production and fitYou have the ability to work from pattern blocks or from sketchesYou have excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skillsYou have strong leadership skills with an aptitude for coaching teamsYou have an extensive knowledge of raw materials, technical construction,



and sourcingYou have experience effectively communicating with and travelling to domestic and offshore vendors and manufacturersYou are detailed and accuracy oriented with robust organizational skillsYou are goal-driven with a results-oriented attitudeYou have strong prioritization skillsYou have robust computer skills in Pattern Making software (Gerber is an asset), Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft OfficeSalaryA reasonable estimate of the pay range is CAD $94,000 - CAD $117,000 at the time of this posting.
