The position holder will operate a variety of tools and equipment to carry out specified job tasks.Position type: full‑time with seasonal fluctuations – busier during spring/fall, less in the middle of summer and winter. Summer is a 4‑day week (Monday‑Thursday) with occasional Fridays and Saturdays. mulch and plant material to assist with the construction of landscape gardens and related areasPerform weeding and other general garden dutiesSpray and dust areas to control insects and/or weedsSnow removal in winterOperate power equipment including lawn tractors, lawn mowers, line trimmers, blowers, hedge trimmers, pruning saws, sod cutters, chainsaws, and snow blowersConduct daily inspections and maintenance on vehicles, tools, and equipmentAssist crew leads/field supervisors in other work‑related duties including construction projects, shop and yard maintenance, vehicle and equipment maintenanceWear appropriate PPE at all timesComply with all company policies and regulationsWork in accordance with local health and safety laws and regulationsCommunicate with customers in a polite and courteous mannerRequirementsMinimum 6 months to 1 year experience in the landscape/construction industry preferredValid, clean Class 5 licence eligible for higher end of pay scale; without a licenceup to$22.50Capable of operating required equipment and tools safely and responsiblyEffective communication skills – able to carry out verbal instructions, read labels and signs, complete simple reports, report progress to supervisorsTime‑management skillsKnowledge of specific materials, methods, tools and equipment required for various landscape/construction practicesAbility to work independently with little supervision and as part of a teamPhysical ability to walk, stand, crouch for long periods and lift over 50 lbs repeatedly during a shiftPreference for candidates with a valid driver’s licence and safe driving recordWork ConditionsAbility to work with hand tools, power tools, small‑engine equipment, and materialsAbility to push, pull and lift a minimum of 50 lbs repeatedly during an entire shiftAbility to work in a quick‑paced environmentRequires positive manual dexterityExcellent stamina requiredWork near heavy equipment and other vehicles regularlyWork outdoors in various conditions including heat, humidity, rain, dust, noise, and coldFlexible working hours including occasional weekend workEqual Employment OpportunityLandscapers By Nature Ltd.
