Canada Summer Jobs role supporting outreach, engagement, and fundraising initiatives across Scarborough and the Greater Toronto Area.Location Toronto (Scarborough), OntarioType Full-time, 8 weeks (35 hours/week)Compensation $20.33/hourDeadline May 15, 2026Starts June 15, 2026Ends August 15, 2026Position OverviewThe Tamil Community Centre is seeking a motivated and community-oriented Community Programs Coordinator to support its outreach, engagement, and fundraising initiatives.This role offers a unique prospect to gain hands‑on experience at the intersection of community development, stakeholder engagement, and large-scale project implementation. The successful candidate will contribute directly to a transformative, generational infrastructure project while developing practical skills in communications, program coordination, and community engagement.Key Responsibilities1. Community Outreach & EngagementSupport the development and implementation of outreach strategies across Scarborough and the Greater Toronto Area.Engage with community members through canvassing, digital outreach, social media, and phone engagement.Assist in building and maintaining relationships with community organizations, including Tamil organizations and other equity‑deserving groups.Represent TCC professionally at community meetings, consultations, and events.Assist with donor engagement workflows, including tracking donations and follow‑up communications.Maintain accurate donor records using CRM or Excel‑based systems.Support the preparation of donor presentations, reports, and outreach materials.Participate in fundraising initiatives and campaigns, including community‑based drives.Support the planning and execution of community events, town halls, and outreach activities.Assist with logistics,



including venue coordination, registration, and run‑of‑show development.Coordinate with volunteers and support volunteer engagement efforts.Provide on‑site support during events and community activations.4. Administrative & Research SupportDraft professional communications, including outreach emails, reports, and briefing notes.Conduct community asset mapping and research to inform programming and outreach.Track tasks, timelines, and deliverables using internal tools.Maintain organized records and documentation using shared drives.Eligibility CriteriaTo be eligible for the Canada Summer Jobs program, applicants must:Be between 15 and 30 years old at the start of their summer job.Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the job.Be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations (including a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of their summer job).Qualifications and AssetsBilingualism in English and Tamil.Strong interest in community engagement, non-profit work, public service, or event planning.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strong organizational and time management abilities.Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.Cultural awareness and sensitivity when working with diverse communities.Familiarity with tools such as Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, or Canva is an asset.TCC is committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
