About The Role

The Group Underwriting Assistant provides administrative and operational support to the Group Underwriting department. The role coordinates new business quotes, proposals, renewals, reporting and departmental documentation while ensuring work is completed accurately and within established service standards.

Salary Range: $39,500 to $42,000

Key Responsibilities

- Monitor quote and renewal inboxes, review submissions for completeness, and follow up for missing information.
- Review previous quote activity, maintain tracking logs, and assign work to the appropriate Underwriter.
- Prepare, review and distribute proposal package.
- Generate and process Drug Utilization Reports and other renewal-related reports using provider systems, Excel macros and departmental templates.
- Organize, assemble, scan, file, and distribute quote and renewal documentation.
- Maintain accurate electronic and physical group files.




- Respond to routine information requests and coordinate information with Marketing Cenrres and other internal departments.
- Provide coverage for other Underwriting Assistants during absences or periods of increased workload.
- Assist with departmental projects, system testing, process improvements, and other administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

- Previous administrative experience; insurance, group benefits, or underwriting experience is considered an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft, Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Robust organizational and time management skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information professionally and accurately.
