Sodexo Live! is the Official Supplier of Food and Beverage Services to BC Place Stadium. BC Place is a multi‑purpose stadium in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Located at the north side of False Creek, it is owned and operated by the BC Pavilion Corporation, a Crown corporation of the province. Home to BC Lions, Vancouver White Caps, Concerts and Live events, the facility welcomes hundreds of thousands of fans each year, while generating significant economic activity for the Province.Job OverviewWe are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Sous Chef to join our dynamic team. The position will be responsible for planning, preparing, and executing high‑quality offerings for various events, including corporate functions, sporting events, parties, and other special occasions. The ideal candidate will have a passion for culinary excellence, creativity in menu design,



and a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences.Essential ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with clients and catering team to create customized menus that meet the specific needs and preferences of each clientDevelop creative and seasonal dishes that align with the latest culinary trends and dietary requirementsEnsure all menus are cost effective and meet budgetary constraintsSupervise and participate in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of food for catering eventsEnsure all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of taste and presentationOversee the setup and breakdown of catering stations, buffets, and plated servicesLead, train, and manage the catering kitchen staff, including cooks, assistants, and temporary personnelFoster a positive and productive work environmentMaintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen and catering areasEnsure compliance with health and safety regulations and food handling protocolsConduct regular inspections and audits of kitchen practices and proceduresManage inventory levels, order supplies, and control costs to maintain profitabilityMonitor food wastage and implement strategies to minimize itKeep accurate records of food purchase, usage, and inventoryWork closely with clients to understand their needs and preferences,



providing professional advice and suggestionsConduct tastings and consultations to finalize menu selectionsHandle client feedback and resolve any issues or concerns promptlyCommunicate and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and vendorsQualifications / SkillsCulinary degree or equivalent professional trainingMinimum of 3 years of experience in a similar catering or banquet chef roleProven track record of successful large‑volume catering eventsExceptional culinary skills with a strong emphasis on flavour and presentationCreativity and ability to design diverse and appealing menusStrong leadership and team management abilitiesExcellent organizational and time management skillsEffective communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work under pressure and meet tight deadlinesFlexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as requiredPhysical ability to lift heavy items and stand for extended periodsValid Food Safe Level 1 certification and any other required certificationsOther RequirementsAble to work effectively and safely while subject to wet floors, temperature extremes and excessive noise; must be able to lift upto 50 pounds in weight; must be able to maneuver in an often tightly‑quartered environment.Hours may be extended or irregular to include nights, weekends and holidays.Sodexo Live! is an equal opportunity employer.
