Recognizing the diversity of women's experience in today's society, our programs seek to address a range of issues in a woman's life that may contribute to substance use and gambling concerns.The Jean Tweed Centre is building capacity to transform the level of support for women with substance use, mental health, and gambling concerns.Position PurposeThe Residential Counsellor is responsible for the overall safety of the residence and for creating and maintaining a safe and supportive environment for clients during their stay. This position includes supportive counselling, facilitation of evening activities, crisis intervention, conflict mediation, and facilitation of community meetings.Pay and ScheduleRate of Pay: $22.47 - $26.291 Part-time B position available (8-hour shift)Location: 3111 Lakeshore Blvd West, Toronto, ON, M8V 4B6Schedule: Saturday and Sunday, 9:00am-5:00pmHow will you help to get us there?Conduct intake and assessment where designatedCollaborate and follow up with clients with meeting requirements of residenceSupport clients/residents at the residence in carrying out their treatment plan, and assist with daily routinesMonitor client relations/issues, ensuring that any crisis identified is addressed and assistance with conflict resolution is offeredManage the documentation and recording of information, including the record of case notes in the daily log if necessarySupervise and assist residents with any required medication where applicableCarry out medication protocols and administration where applicableFollow security protocols and address safety concerns as they ariseIdentify and follow up on maintenance issues when they ariseCollaborate with supervisor to discuss job performance and establish professional goalsEngage in ongoing staff development and personal learning as agreed to in performance reviewsAdministrationMaintain documentation of relevant client interactions and interventions, and contacts with collateral supportsMonitor the progress of clients, prepare reports and letters as necessaryParticipate in staff meetings, team development and supervision meetingsCollaborate with supervisor to discuss job performance and establish professional goalsEngage in ongoing staff development and personal learning as agreed to in performance reviewsOrganizationalConduct job responsibilities with a commitment to harm reduction, trauma-informed, women-centred and anti-oppressive practicesAbide by the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and work in a manner that is safe, reporting incidents immediately to direct supervisorAdhere to the policies and procedures of The Jean Tweed Treatment CentrePerform other duties as assigned in order to meet the overall goals and objectives of The Jean Tweed Treatment CentreMaintain a client service orientation including learning about and addressing client needs and concernsWork collaboratively including respect others, sharing information, consulting and celebrating shared successesDemonstrate accountability by holding self-responsible and following through on commitmentsSupport inclusion and equity by respecting others, embracing diversity and addressing oppressionCommit to continuous learning through career development, giving and receiving constructive feedback and applying new skillsRequirementsCollege Diploma in Addictions and Mental Health or equivalent qualificationA combination of 3 years of work experience in the field of Mental Health, Substance Use,
