Special Education Technician — Children Ages 18 Months to 12 Years

We are looking for a dynamic, caring, and versatile individual who enjoys working with children in a stimulating environment where no two days are quite the same!

The selected candidate will work with children ranging from 18 months to 12 years old across both of our establishments. The position will be adapted according to the needs of the children, groups, and our team, as well as the strengths and skills of the selected candidate.

Your day-to-day responsibilities may include:

- Providing individual support and guidance to children;
- Supporting teachers and educators within their groups;
- Assisting and accompanying groups according to their needs;
- Providing tutoring or academic support;
- Participating in recess supervision and other supervision periods;
- Intervening during challenging situations or crisis situations;
- Implementing strategies that promote children's development, independence, and well-being;
- Collaborating with different members of our team.

The profile we're looking for
Above all, we're looking for someone who enjoys working with children, demonstrates good judgment, and can adapt their approach to different situations and age groups.

Previous experience working with children is required,



as well as a strong ability to remain calm and intervene appropriately during crisis situations or when faced with challenging behaviours. The selected candidate must be able to provide a protected and reassuring environment, respond appropriately, and adapt quickly to the needs of each child and situation.

Education or training in special education or a related field is considered an asset but is not required. Hands-on experience, intervention skills, and the ability to build positive relationships with children will be particularly important in our selection process.

The selected candidate must have a sufficient level of French to communicate effectively with children and confidently intervene in a variety of situations, including behavioural or crisis situations.

Position shared between École trilingue Vision Saguenay and La petite école Vision Saguenay
Number of hours to be determined based on the needs of both establishments and the selected candidate's profile and skills
Salary based on experience
