Your future starts here.Purpose of the PositionAs a valued member of CPKC’s Work Equipment team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of company systems by performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing and correcting issues, and conducting repairs on mechanical, electrical and hydraulic machinery and equipment. Your expertise will contribute directly to the smooth operation of our equipment and the success of our operations. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, enjoys working outdoors and will travel occasionally.Position AccountabilitiesConduct safe and efficient mechanical repair and maintenance of roadway equipmentInspect, repair, and test a wide range of machinery involved in changing ties and rails, including machines, ballast regulators, loaders, skid steers, backhoes, tie cranes, and tie insertersUtilize manual, electric, and hydraulic tools, alongside welders and cutting torches, to perform and verify maintenance tasks and repairsInvestigate and diagnose equipment issues, taking swift corrective action to minimize downtime and production disruptionsPlan, organize, and coordinate work within a collaborative team settingMaintain and submit accurate equipment maintenance records, timesheets and documentationPosition RequirementsMust be at least 18 years of ageValid driver’s licenseHigh school diploma or general equivalencyFormal technical education for heavy equipment,
