You’ll work alongside a strong multi-trade team, tackling precision work, supporting production, and driving continuous improvement in a rapid-paced facility.Job Type:Full-time, PermanentLocation:Hamilton, ONShift:ContinentalPay rate:$43.10/hr plus shift premiumsOverviewWork collaboratively as part of a team made up of other trades and production operatorsDemonstrate and maintain a consistent output that meets production needsSet up and operate all toolroom machines including lathes, milling machines, drill presses, grinders, etc.Build, modify, repair, and troubleshoot dies, jigs, and fixtures for production while working to very close tolerances from blueprints, sketches, and samplesAssist operators in setting up and adjusting presses to ensure the final product meets customer specificationsMaintain and manufacture tools, dies,
and fixtures to ensure quality components at peak efficiencyRead and interpret blueprints and use precision measuring instruments (imperial and metric)Perform bench work and skilled fitting to very close tolerancesMaintain existing dies and perform changeoversMaintain documentation and preventative maintenance requirements of press toolsRecommend maintenance and equipment repair necessary to achieve the highest possible efficiency, safety, and qualityTool and Die Maker AEC / DEP or Certificate of Qualification (430A)Experience working safely in a heavy industrial environmentWorking knowledge of OHSA and relevant legislation (e.G., WHMIS, Lockout, Confined Space, Working at Heights, etc.) and willingness to successfully complete employer-paid trainingAble to prioritize urgency based on production requirementsConduct and complete scheduled preventative maintenance work orders, tasks, and checklistsAccurately document the steps taken and the duration required to diagnose and resolve issuesAbility to work independently and as a contributing, collaborating team memberBasic computer literacySafely perform the physical demands of this position including standing, bending, crouching, overhead work, heavy lifting, and carrying.Experience with heavy stamping, EDM Sinker is considered an assetMust be legally eligible to work in Canada and able to work full time hours as required by this positionBenefitsDental careOn-site parkingVision careExperienceheavy industrial environment: 2 years (preferred)heavy stamping: 2 years (preferred)Licence/Certification430A license (required)Work Location:In person#J-18808-Ljbffr
