Job Summary This position assists with research activities within the Centre of Applied Moral Psychology, Department of Psychology at UBC.

This position perform technical tasks of moderately complex where on-the-job training is provided.

The candidate will assist the principal investigator and the research team.

Organizational Status The research assistant will work closely with the principal investigator and research team members in completing the described tasks.

Work Performed Assists in preparing ethical review submissions, composes study consent forms and creates related data collection forms, addresses and amends study queries as required by the UBC BREB, prepares study updates and reports as required following principal investigators instructions.

Assists with coordinating meetings, including assisting with scheduling, taking minutes, and following up on action items.

Attends lab meeting and taking minutes.

Assisting in the preparation of study-related materials (consents, ethics, information sheets) by following principal investigators instructions.

Completing general office work, and assisting other lab members.

Assists in coordinating research expenses, monitors research accounts, processes payment of research expenses, prepares financial reports for all studies being undertaken.

Performs other related duties as assigned/or required.

Consequence of Error/Judgement Supervised directly by the principal investigator or designate who interacts with him/her on an almost daily basis.





Although some independent judgement is required, the close supervision reduces the likelihood of critical errors.

Errors might affect the efficiency of the lab; however, given the direct line of reporting this is not likely.

Supervision Received Supervised by the principal investigator or designate who provides instruction and guidance.

Supervision Given May provide guidance to research assistants who are less experienced.

Minimum Qualifications High school graduation, some additional training in a related field and a minimum two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. - Willingness to respect diverse perspectives, including perspectives in conflict with ones own - Demonstrates a commitment to enhancing ones own awareness, knowledge, and skills related to equity, diversity, and inclusion Preferred Qualifications Undergraduate university degree in Psychology preferred.

Completion of courses in Research Methods and Statistics in Psychology an asset.

Computer experience.

Experience with design and maintenance of complex databases.
