The Director will report to the Vice President of Student Success and will play a significant role in implementing Georgian's Indigenization strategy, Maajiishkaadaa. Through community engagement and traditional knowledge, the Director will shape policies and foster relationships that ensure Georgian is a premier institution for Indigenous students. A robust understanding of Indigenous history is crucial.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the implementation of Maajiishkaadaa - Advise college leadership on Indigenous perspectives and strategies - Develop Indigenous-focused courses and community outreach programs - Establish relationships with Indigenous organizations and networks - Represent Georgian in external Indigenous education forums
Requirements: - 9+ years of relevant leadership experience - Extensive knowledge in Indigenous training and education - Solid relationship-building skills within Indigenous communities - Effective communication abilities and mediation skills - Expertise in data management and analysis
