As a Diagnostic Sonographer, you will work in the general ultrasound department and the Maternal Fetal Medicine clinic. Conduct a range of standardized and complex ultrasound services essential for diagnosing and monitoring diseases and pathologies.

As a Diagnostic Sonographer I, you will perform a variety of standardized and complex ultrasound services for the diagnosis and tracking of disease and pathology. Your responsibilities include preparing the patient for examination, reviewing patient history, explaining procedures, obtaining ultrasound images of diagnostic quality, and takes initial action to resolve abnormal findings. You will assist with diagnosis, clinical intervention and patient management all while ensuring a high level of patient care and safety.



Your work may include assisting Radiologists and Cardiologists, Perinatologists and other medical staff with special procedures where required.

Completion of extended diploma from an accredited ultrasound program. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic & Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Canadian Registered Generalist Sonographer (CRGS). Consideration will be given to candidates who are eligible for CRGS credential. Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position. Must be able to work all scheduled shifts including on call.

Positive decision-making skills, capable of showing initiative and maintaining a cooperative and adaptable attitude. Displays tact, courtesy and empathy when dealing with patients and families. The ability to work independently as well as effectively with others in a wide variety of clinical and educational situations. Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written skills. Working knowledge of computer applications and familiarity with Connect Care is an asset.
