A career as a Senior Advisory, Tax Compliance in the Capital Markets Onboarding team at National Bank means acting as a compliance expert in international tax regulations. In this role, you help ensure the integrity of onboarding processes for counterparties and contribute directly to sound risk management practices. Your expertise in tax compliance, capital markets operations, and regulatory frameworks allows you to influence key decisions and support business growth while maintaining a strong control environment.
Your role
• Advise business units and internal partners on the application of QI, QDD, and CRS-FATCA regulations to mitigate compliance risks.
• Ensure counterparties' compliance with applicable tax regulations throughout the onboarding lifecycle.
• Oversee the governance and effectiveness of operational controls related to international tax compliance programs.
• Support process reviews, regulatory initiatives, and projects impacting Capital Markets Onboarding activities.
• Develop procedures, tools, training content, and documentation that strengthen regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.
• Act as the primary point of reference for regulatory expertise and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve complex compliance matters.

The Operations Capital Markets Documentation Centre for Counterparties consists of more than 50 specialists who work in an agile, proactive, and collaborative manner to seize opportunities, stay at the forefront of industry developments, and continuously improve processes.
Within the Operations Capital Markets Documentation Centre for Counterparties, you are part of a large team of 50 colleagues and report to the Senior Manager,

Requirements
• Hold a completed bachelor's degree in a related field and 6 years of relevant experience, or a completed master's degree and 4 years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrate experience within the securities industry or capital markets environment.
• Possess strong knowledge of Qualified Intermediary (QI) and Qualified Derivatives Dealer (QDD) rules.
• Have knowledge of Common Reporting Standard and Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (CRS-FATCA) regulations.
• Be proficient in the Murex platform or similar capital markets systems.
