About the Role
We are seeking a Field Lab Sampling Technician to support operations at a major thermal oil sands facility in northern Alberta. This role is ideal for candidates who enjoy working in both field and laboratory environments and have experience collecting, handling, and documenting process samples in an industrial setting.

Key Responsibilities

Collect and transport operational and production samples from field locations

Perform field and laboratory sample preparation and testing activities

Ensure proper sample handling and chain-of-custody procedures

Document results and maintain accurate records

Monitor compliance with site safety, environmental, and quality standards

Support laboratory and operations personnel with sampling requirements

Assist with troubleshooting sampling and testing processes

Participate in continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives

Qualifications

Diploma, certificate, or post-secondary education in Chemistry, Chemical Technology, Environmental Sciences, or a related discipline

Previous experience in field sampling, laboratory operations, or industrial testing environments

Solid attention to detail and commitment to safety

Ability to work independently in a field-based environment

Excellent communication and organizational skills

Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence

Oil sands operations

Water, environmental, or production sampling

Laboratory testing and sample preparation

Industrial or energy-sector field operations

Additional Requirements

Safety-sensitive position

Ability to work in outdoor industrial environments

Drug and alcohol testing may be required

H2S Alive certification considered an asset

Valid driver's licence required
