Impact the educational journey of students as an On-Call Child and Youth Care Worker with School District No. 42. This role supports social/emotional learning and behavior management initiatives.
The On-Call Child and Youth Care Worker role focuses on working collaboratively with students and families to promote positive behavioral change. You will engage with students individually and in groups, facilitating support by implementing intervention strategies and acting as a liaison with community resources when necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
• Foster trust and stability in student relationships
• Implement and track positive behavior plans
• Provide family referrals to additional resources
• Assist with school and community activity planning
• Maintain communication between stakeholders
Requirements:
• Grade 12 and Child/Youth Care Worker Diploma
• Six months experience with at-risk youth
• Ability to work independently
• Strong conflict resolution skills
• Current knowledge of local social service agencies
