Job Title: Production Operator
Job Description
The Production Operator – Day Shift sets up, operates, and adjusts high-speed filling, bottling, capping, labelling, and packaging machinery on a production line. This role focuses on efficient changeovers, basic troubleshooting and maintenance, quality inspection, and accurate documentation of production activities in a clean, GMP-compliant environment.
Responsibilities
Set up and perform changeovers on production line machinery, including filling, bottling, capping, labelling, and packaging equipment.
Operate machines with conveyors and multiple components to ensure smooth and efficient production flow.
Troubleshoot machinery issues, including adjusting heights and widths of machine components, knob speeds, capper strength, and conveyor settings.
Use hand tools such as wrenches, Allen keys, channel locks, and mallets to perform minor repairs and adjustments on equipment.
Monitor machine output continuously to identify and stop any machine-related flaws or quality issues.
Conduct routine quality checks on products to ensure they meet established standards and specifications.
Maintain accurate documentation of production activities, including downtime logs, quality checks, and other relevant records.
Follow GMP and general production guidelines to maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
Inspect products and packaging for defects or irregularities and take corrective action when necessary.
Collaborate with team members to coordinate line operations, support changeovers, and meet production targets.
Adapt to varied tasks on the production line rather than performing a single repetitive activity.
Comply with all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE, and report any equipment or safety concerns promptly.
Essential Skills
Minimum 2 years of machine operation experience on a production line with conveyors and multiple components.
Proven experience in setup and changeover of production line machinery, including filling, capping, and labelling equipment.
Hands‑on troubleshooting skills for production machinery, including mechanical adjustments and minor repairs.
Ability to use hand tools such as wrenches, allen keys, channel locks, and mallets safely and effectively.
Experience documenting production activities, including downtime tracking and quality check records.
Experience working in a GMP or similar regulated production environment.
Strong attention to detail to identify machine issues and product defects quickly.
Ability to work effectively as a team player in a fast‑paced production setting.
Comfort with performing a variety of tasks rather than one repetitive function.
High school diploma or equivalent education.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience operating filling machines, capping machines, labelling machines, and related packaging machinery.
General production and inspection experience in a manufacturing or packaging environment.
Strong organizational skills to maintain a clean and efficient work area.
Good communication skills to collaborate with team members and share production updates.
Willingness to learn recent equipment and processes and grow within the production team.

Work Environment
This role operates on straight shifts, with training provided on the assigned shift to ensure a smooth onboarding experience. The facility can onboard multiple new team members per shift each week, supporting a structured and supportive training process. The environment is temperature‑controlled, very clean, and well organized, with a faint smell of soap typical of the products handled. Team members wear lab coats provided on site, long pants, and steel‑toe footwear in accordance with safety and GMP requirements. Day shift runs from 7:00 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., afternoon shift from 3:00 p.m. to 11:15 p.m., and night shift from 11:00 p.m. to 7:15 a.m., with premiums available for afternoon and night shifts.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of BURLINGTON, ON.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.58 - $23.58/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job‑related factors.
