About the Role

The Human Resource Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to the Human Resources department. This role involves managing employee inquiries, maintaining personnel records and the HRIS platform, coordinating recruitment efforts, participating in interviews, completing reference checks, and facilitating the onboarding and offboarding processes. The HR Assistant also assists in implementing HR programs and initiatives to support a positive work environment.



Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to confidentiality are key attributes for this position.

Position: Temporary Full-time, 35 hours a week until return of incumbent

Compensation: $30.66 - $35.96 per hour

Indirect Compensation

Extended Health and Dental benefits after the 3-month probationary period

9.31% Pension matching after the 3-month probationary period.

3 weeks vacation pay, which increases with length of service.

1 paid wellness day per year

Paid Birthday Off

Paid sick time which increases with length of service.

Qualifications

Education and experience

Diploma in a related discipline (Human Resources or Business Administration)

Minimum 1 years’ Administrative or General Human Resource Experience

Experience with Ultimate Kronos Group (UKG) or other HRIS platforms (preferred)

Job skills and abilities

Proficient use of Microsoft Office products.

Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Excellent organizational and time management skills

Other Requirements

Employees must declare their vaccination status for COVID-19 and influenza; if vaccinated, documentation must be provided.
