Insight Global is seeking experienced Press Brake Operators to join a growing manufacturing team in Burlington, Ontario. Our clients a leading manufacturer of elevator components and is currently expanding production capacity due to significant business growth and long-term project demand.
This individual will play a critical role within the fabrication department, operating press brake machinery to produce high-quality custom metal components while ensuring products meet precise engineering specifications. The ideal candidate will be an experienced operator who can work independently, maintain a strong quality focus, and contribute positively to a cooperative team environment.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities Operate and set up press brake machinery to bend and form metal components according to engineering drawings and specifications
Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and work orders
Perform first-piece, in-process, and final quality inspections to ensure accuracy and compliance with tolerances
Utilize calibrated measuring tools including calipers, tape measures, angle gauges, and other precision instruments
Complete tooling changes and machine adjustments as required
Maintain quality standards and identify defects or discrepancies before products move to downstream manufacturing processes
Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout requirements
Support preventative maintenance initiatives and proper machine upkeep
Collaborate with supervisors, welders, assemblers, and other production personnel to meet production objectives
Contribute ideas for process improvements, efficiencies,
and best practices within the fabrication department
Required Skills & Experience 5+ years of experience operating press brake machinery in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment
Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings
Experience working within precision metal fabrication environments
Ability to perform measurements, quality inspections, and self-verification of completed work
Experience using precision measuring instruments and inspection tools
Strong understanding of manufacturing quality standards and tolerances
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Knowledge of workplace safety procedures, including lockout/tagout practices
Strong attendance record and commitment to workplace reliability
Nice-to-Have Skills Experience operating Amada press brake equipment
Experience contributing to preventative maintenance programs
Experience in custom fabrication or job-shop manufacturing environments
Leadership or mentoring experience within a manufacturing setting
Process improvement or continuous improvement experience
We are hiring for 2 different shifts:
Days (7:30 AM - 4:00 PM) or Afternoons (4:00 PM - 12:00 AM)
Pay Transparency:
The expected hour rate for this position falls between $34.00 - $40.00/hour + $1.00/hour shift premium for afternoons
