Southern Okanagan Secondary School seeks a dedicated Inclusion Support Teacher for a 1.0 FTE temporary position, starting September 1, 2026. This role emphasizes adapting curriculum to meet diverse student needs and support educational growth.
This temporary teaching role is vital for providing tailored support to students requiring diverse educational pathways. Ideal candidates will hold a Master’s degree or an Inclusive Education certificate and demonstrate successful classroom experience. You will lead the development of Individual Education Plans and adapt programs to meet various learning needs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and evaluate Individual Education Plans for students
• Adapt and implement curriculum for diverse abilities
• Conduct classroom assessments and diagnostic evaluations
• Support education assistants and leadership in student services
• Act as a liaison with community agencies and school district staff
Requirements:
• Master’s degree or Inclusive Education certification
• Recent successful classroom teaching experience
• Proven organizational and communication skills
• BC Qualified Teaching Certificate required
• Capacity to integrate technology in education
