**Job Title: Aircraft Painter**
**Job Description**
The Aircraft Painter prepares, paints, and finishes aircraft components in a hangar shop environment, following direction from the paint shop lead.

This role involves mixing primers and polyurethane paints, setting up and prepping parts, applying coatings using spray and electrostatic equipment, and ensuring a consistent, high-quality finish on a variety of aircraft landing gear, wheels, brakes, and related components.
**Responsibilities**
Follow direction and daily work assignments from the paint shop lead to complete painting tasks safely and efficiently.

Mix primers and polyurethane paints according to specified ratios and manufacturer guidelines to achieve proper viscosity and finish.

Set up aircraft parts and components for painting, including masking, hanging, and arranging parts in designated paint areas.

Perform thorough paint preparation on parts, including cleaning, sanding, and surface conditioning to ensure optimal adhesion and finish quality.

Apply paint and coatings to aircraft landing gear, wheels, brakes, and fan blade pins using spray guns and electrostatic equipment.

Place freshly painted parts in designated drying areas and monitor drying times to maintain workflow and finish quality.

Repeat painting and prep processes as required to meet production schedules and quality standards.

Inspect painted parts for coverage, finish consistency, and defects, and perform touch-ups or rework when necessary.

Handle and maintain painting tools, spray guns, and electrostatic equipment, ensuring proper cleaning and storage after use.

Work collaboratively with a small team to coordinate tasks and maintain an organized, efficient paint shop setting.

Follow all safety procedures related to painting operations, including proper use of personal protective equipment and safe handling of paints and chemicals.
**Essential Skills**
Minimum 6 months of aircraft painting experience.

Proficiency in paint preparation, including cleaning, masking, and sanding parts prior to painting.

Ability to mix primers and polyurethane paints accurately according to specifications.

Hands-on experience using spray guns for industrial or aircraft painting applications.

Familiarity with electrostatic painting techniques and equipment.

Experience painting aircraft components such as landing gear, wheels, brakes, and related parts.

Ability to follow detailed instructions from the paint shop lead and work within established processes.

Strong attention to detail to achieve consistent, high-quality paint finishes.

Capability to work full shifts on a shop floor, handling repetitive tasks while maintaining quality and safety.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
Industrial painting experience in a shop or manufacturing environment.

Experience prepping a variety of metal and composite parts for painting.





Comfort working with various aircraft component types and configurations.

Ability to work effectively as part of a small, collaborative team.

Basic understanding of paint curing and drying processes.

Strong work ethic and reliability in adhering to schedules and production targets.

**Work Environment**
The role is based on an aircraft hangar shop floor, working closely with a team of approximately four people.

You will work Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., using industrial painting equipment such as spray guns and electrostatic systems.

The environment is hands-on and production-focused, with aircraft components and related tooling present throughout the workspace, and requires appropriate shop-floor attire and adherence to safety and protective equipment standards.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract position based out of North Bay, ON.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $42.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
**Workplace Type**
This is a fully onsite position in North Bay,ON.
