Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a Senior Data Protection & Governance Engineer to support the implementation of a global Microsoft 365 data governance and security program.

This individual will serve as the primary technical resource responsible for building Microsoft Purview capabilities from the ground up, including data classification, data loss prevention, insider risk management, records management, and identity-based access controls.

This is a highly hands-on role requiring someone who has personally led Microsoft Purview deployments and can translate compliance requirements into scalable technical solutions.

Skills and Requirements
5+ years of experience within Microsoft Security, Data Governance, Information Protection, or Compliance Engineering
Hands-on experience leading at LEAST one full Microsoft Purview implementation from scratch through production
• Solid experience with:
○ Microsoft Purview Information Protection
○ Microsoft Purview Data Catalog
○ Data Classification & Sensitivity Labels
○ Records Management & Retention Policies
○ Microsoft Purview DLP
○ Insider Risk Management
Experience implementing RBAC and/or ABAC access controls
Strong Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) experience including Conditional Access
Power Automate development experience
Power

Shell scripting experience
Experience gathering requirements from Legal, Security, Compliance, and business stakeholders
Strong communication skills and ability to lead workshops, whiteboarding sessions, and governance discussions Microsoft SC-400 certification
Additional Microsoft Security certifications
Zscaler DLP experience
Power Apps development experience
• Experience with:
○ ISO 27001
○ ISO 42001
○ GDPR
○ CCPA
Experience supporting change management initiatives
User training, adoption, or data stewardship experience
