**Job Title: Journeyman Millwright**
**Job Description**
This role focuses on installing, maintaining, and repairing industrial equipment in a modern manufacturing facility.

You read and interpret equipment manuals and blueprints, diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, and perform precise repairs and adjustments to keep machinery operating safely, efficiently, and reliably.

You assemble and install equipment using hand and power tools as well as welding equipment, support continuous improvement initiatives, and complete preventive maintenance work orders while maintaining a clean and safe work area in accordance with lockout/tagout policies.
**Responsibilities**
Read and interpret equipment manuals, technical documentation, and blueprints to plan and execute installations, troubleshooting, and repairs.

Inspect and examine equipment to identify irregularities, malfunctions, and potential failure points.

Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective components to restore equipment to optimal operating condition.

Assemble equipment prior to installation using appropriate hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.

Perform mechanical troubleshooting on industrial equipment, including pneumatic and hydraulic systems.

Support and participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance equipment safety, efficiency, and reliability.

Complete work orders in alignment with preventive maintenance schedules and document work performed accurately.

Carry out electrical wiring and electrical assembly tasks related to industrial equipment as required.

Work safely at all times and follow provincial safety regulations and internal lockout/tagout (LOTO) policies.

Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard‑free work area, promptly removing debris and potential safety risks.

Collaborate with team members and cross-functional groups during installations, repairs, and improvement projects.

Perform other related duties as assigned or required to support ongoing operations and projects.
**Essential Skills**
Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

Strong mechanical aptitude with industrial equipment and systems.

High proficiency with pneumatic and hydraulic systems, including troubleshooting and repair.

Hands-on electrical experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting.

Experience with PLC systems in manufacturing or industrial environments.

Proven track record working with welding equipment, including ARC, TIG, and MIG processes.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

Mechanical troubleshooting skills in industrial and manufacturing applications.

Experience with HVAC systems in industrial or commercial settings.

Above-average problem-solving skills, particularly in complex mechanical and electrical scenarios.

Competence in electrical wiring and electrical assembly work.

Comfort working on a third-shift schedule, Monday through Friday, from 9:45 p.m. to 6:15 a.m.

**Work Environment**
You work in a brand-current, clean industrial shop on a third-shift schedule from 9:45 p.m. to 6:15 a.m., Monday through Friday.

The facility is large and well-organized, with a dedicated lunch room and modern equipment, including welding tools, mechanical systems, pneumatic and hydraulic machinery, HVAC systems, and PLC-controlled industrial equipment.

The role begins with a four-day orientation, including three days in the classroom and a fourth day of on-the-job evaluation and training, which you must successfully pass.

The shift structure provides eight hours of paid work per shift, incorporating two paid 15-minute shuttle periods, one paid 15-minute rest break, and one unpaid 30-minute meal break.

The environment emphasizes cleanliness, safety, and adherence to lockout/tagout procedures while supporting long-term projects and continuous improvement.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Calgary, AB.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $45.64 - $48.64/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
