Deliver trauma-informed counseling to women impacted by gender-based violence. This role emphasizes a feminist, harm reduction approach, supporting women's empowerment and resilience.
The Counsellor role requires a relevant degree and 3-5 years of experience in trauma-informed services. You will utilize therapeutic modalities to promote healing and self-awareness, ensuring a safe space for women to contextualize their experiences. Working collaboratively, you will also identify service needs and provide referrals to community resources.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide individual supportive counseling to women
• Engage in trauma-informed therapeutic modalities
• Establish non-judgmental and safe counseling environments
• Assist women in developing personal goals and action plans
• Facilitate educational groups as assigned
Requirements:
• Relevant post-secondary degree/diploma with 3-5 years experience
• Experience with survivors of gender-based violence
• Current First Aid/CPR and WHMIS Certification
• Robust understanding of feminist and anti-oppressive frameworks
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
